Wizard of Oz Nesting Dolls

There's no place like home...and there's no better way to portray the characters from Frank Baum's beloved classic than on a nesting doll! This fun collectable pictures Dorothy, Toto, and travelling companions the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly Lion on the outermost doll. Next is pictured Glinda the Good Witch, followed by the Wicked Witch of the West, a flying monkey, and Dorothy's slippers on the smallest doll. Hand painted in St. Petersburg, Russia.

This year is the 100th Anniversary of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.Frank Baum (Author). The Illustrations are by W.W. Denslow. The illustrations show our favorite characters like the Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion. Not only is this the book’s anniversary but it’s the 70th Anniversary of MGM’s “Wizard of Oz”.

Since 2009 is a significant year for OZ fans, I have been searching for OZ Memorabilia. One unusual set of items are Russian Nesting Dolls with the Characters painted on the dolls. The dolls are created in St. Petersberg, Russia. Each item is hand carved and hand painted.

I also have found glicee prints of different illustrations from the original book by L. Frank Baum.
